All those working in the field of Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) and/or Photodiagnosis (PDD) know the very famous "Photodynamic Therapy and Photodiagnosis in Clinical Practice in Clinical Practice" conference which was held every two years in Brixen/Bressanone, Italy and was created by Herwig Kostron and Giulio Jori in February 1995.

The idea was a conference aimed at building bridges between clinicians and scientists. This concept proved to be very successful and the attendance increased to 250 participants from up to 52 nations, a number which was restricted by the conference venue. In October 2014 the 10th and last PDT symposium was held.

It has been decided that the next conference will be held in Nancy from October 24th to 28th 2016 and organized by the French PDT community. The guiding idea is to follow the spirit of Brixen and for the conference to involve interesting discussions between young and senior researchers, poster presentations, spoken presentations and talks from guests from the sphere of academic research mainly centered on clinical PDT applications with the possibility also for people from industry to present their innovations.

The conference will be divided into plenary sessions in English with invited speakers as well as oral presentations selected from submitted abstracts. Posters will be also welcome. The following topics in clinical PDT will be discussed in term of photodynamic diagnosis or therapy, instrumentation, photosensitizers, dosimetry and monitoring, mathematical modeling, cellular mechanisms, …. :
